Now that gas is at a scary price – have you considered getting your motorcycle license ?

Maybe it’s been a Vespa or a silver wing Honda scooter or even a Yamaha 650 cc motorcycle. Are you going to go to the trouble of getting a license or just keep sinking the greenbacks into the 4 wheel gas hog ?
This question was directed to this site so that answers can come from more of a general consensus.
I am 60, Was a firefighter for 30 years…And I never met any motorcycle rider that didn’t get seriously injured or killed if he road often .
3 Fellow F.F. were killed, 6 Seriously injured, all at different times,Same with Friends….Because when it comes to motorcycles and accidents, it doesn’t matter if you are right, because.,YOU LOSE.

When I was a kid, a very long time ago, my friend’s dad had 3 Harleys. We took turns riding the smallest one through the woods. I flipped on top of me. That was enough for me. Many years later a came across a motorcycle accident on a country road. A cyclist ran off the road and into a barbed wire fence. It was not a pretty sight. A friend of mine came into work one Monday morning and it looked as if someone had taken a potato peeler to him. He blew the front tire on his cycle at 65 mph.
As far as gas hogs go, I have not owned a car that got less than 33 mph on the hiway since 1981. The most fuel efficient car I ever owned was a Ford Escort. 38 on the hiway at times. Of course Ford replaced it with the Focus that gets only 33. God their smart.

Hmmm just wondering why you think gas prices are so scary. I guess if you drive a bus they are. USA gets the cheapest gas in the world. Most other countries pay and have been paying what we pay for a gallon they pay for a liter. And if you look at inflation, gas is still pretty damn cheap. You have to understand that when gas prices were a $1 a gallon, a 25 cent increase is a 25% increase. When gas prices are 4 dollars a gallon, a 25 cent increase is a 6.25% increase. It just seems like gas is skyrocketing. Not that I wouldnt want them to go back down or anything but if everyone didnt get so scared about things they really dont understand then the economy wouldnt be so “slumped”. As for the motorcycle license, yea I got one, never been in a major wreck like above ppl talked about and I ride it pretty hard.

Yea I have one and don’t use it 87′ 750 ninja. After my brother was killed by an old man driving a suburban cut him off driving his 954cbr lost all interest, good luck.
